NIck Saban is still the GOAT, and Georgia is still, well, Georgia.

Alabama beat Georgia for the SEC Championship 27-24 to snap the Dogs' 29-game win streak and give the Playoff Committee thought fodder.

Saban said, "These guys right here is what's called a team. A great team. I've never been prouder of a group of guys."

Here's how it went down at Atlanta's Mercedes Benz Stadium:

Georgia drove 83 yards in eight plays and opened the scoring on a 17-yard Kendall Milton run. With 9:31 to go on the first quarter, the Bulldogs led 7-0.

Will Reichard's 43-yard field goal with 3:43 to go in the period made him the NCAA's all-time leading scorer and cut UGA's lead to 7-3.

Heading to the second quarter, Georgia led by four.

Milroe hit Kobe Prentice for 18 and Georgia grabbed his facemak to set up a 28-yard wheel route TD from Milroe to Jam Miller. Bama drove 92 yards to take a 10-7 lead with 12:04 left in the first half.

"We never gave up on this team," MIlroe said after being named game MVP.

Dallas Turner sacked Carson Beck and Georgia's Peyton Woodring doinked a 50-yard field goal try at the 4:37 mark.

Milroe found Isaiah Bond for 22 yards on fourth-and-four and then found former Bulldog Jermaine Burton for 15 yards and a 17-7 Tide lead with 48 seconds to go in the half. That made 17 unanswered points and the momentum was in Bama's corner up 10 at intermission.

Beck hit Arian Smith for 51 yards to the Tide 19, and with 8:51 to go in the third Woodring connected from 34 to cut the Alabama lead to 17-10.

After former Georgia linebacker Trez Marshall recovered a fumble at the UGA 11, Reichard's  28-yarder made it 20-10 Tide with 48 ticks left on the third quarter clock. That score held to start the final stanza.

A pass interference on Terrion Arnold set up a one-yard Beck sneak, and with 10:16 to play the Alabama lead was cut to 20-17.

Iron Bowl heroes Milroe and Bond connected four times on a masterful 75-yard drive capped by a one-yard Roydell Williams lung and with 5:47 left Bama led 27-17.

Beck led a 75-yard march and on fourth-and-goal from the one, Milton crashed in to cut the score to 27-24 with 2:52 remaining.

After KIrby Smart did not try an onside kick, Milroe scampered 30 yards to the UGA 45 picking up a key first down. He then did it again on a fake sweep and nine yards for a first down.Georgia used its final time out with 75 seconds to go.

Now, it's in the Playoff Committee's hands.
