Alabama analyst Will Lawing is headed to Foxborough, Mass., to join the New England Patriots offensive staff, according to ESPN Patriots reporter Mike Reiss.

"Coaching chatter: The Patriots are adding Will Lawing to their offensive staff. Lawing, 37, has a longtime connection with new Patriots OC Bill O'Brien -- at Penn State (2013), the Texans (2014-2020) and Alabama (2021-2022). Worked with TEs his final 2 years at Houston.," said Reiss.

Lawing has a history of working with former Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.

The 37-year old worked as a graduate assistant at Penn State (2013), defensive quality control coach for the Houston Texans (2014-16), offensive assistant for the Texans (2017-18), tight ends coach for the Texans (2019-20), and an offensive analyst for Alabama (2021-22).

Lawing's addition to the Patriots' offensive staff could be a big help for the development of former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones as he knows the Saban, O'Brien, and Belichick systems.
