Alabama are Top Contenders for Five-Star Wide Receiver
Alabama is attempting to add another wide receiver to its 2027 recruiting class, which already includes Alexander Ward, the No.9 wide receiver in the class according to 247 Sports, who announced his commitment to Alabama back in November.

The Crimson Tide extended an offer to Monshun Sales, a five-star wide receiver out of Indiana, on Tuesday.
Just a day after Alabama extended an offer to the highly regarded wide receiver, Sales spoke with On3's Steve Wiltfong, stating that Alabama has quickly become a top contender for his commitment in the class of 2027. Sales mentioned to Wiltfong, “Growing up, Alabama was my dream school.”
The 6-foot-5, 195-pound wide receiver is going into his junior season at Lawrence North in Indianapolis, Indiana, where the five-star prospect excelled in his sophomore season, recording 538 receiving yards on 34 receptions to go along with his seven receiving touchdowns, according to 247 Sports.
Sales is a tall and athletic wide receiver who has gained significant attention as a five-star prospect. In addition to his football skills, he excels in track, having recorded a time of 11.02 seconds in the 100 meters. As a 10th grader, Sales also won a MIC championship in the long jump. However, he still needs to improve his route-running skills, according to Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports, who mentioned this in Sales' scouting report.
Ivens wrote in his scouting report on Sales that “Hulking wide receiver with game-breaking potential given his size and speed. Looks the part with a muscled-up frame that appears to stretch just over 6-foot-4. Isn’t the most technically advanced route runner at this stage, but has shown the ability to sink his hips and make dynamic cuts in passing tournaments. Spent much of his sophomore season challenging defenses vertically from an outside posting and should be able to do the same thing on Saturdays. Likely to face an adjustment period as he levels up in competition and must learn how to consistently create separation at the intermediate parts of the field, but is the type of prospect that doesn’t come around too often in the Hoosier State and has what it takes to eventually thrive in a balanced attack with his catch radius and top gear.”
On3 currently has the talented wide receiver from the Hoosier State ranked as the No.1 wide receiver, No.1 prospect out of Indiana, and the 17th overall prospect in the 2027 class.
According to 247 Sports, Sales currently has 27 Division I offers, with eight of those being from SEC programs, which include:
- Alabama
- Auburn
- Kentucky
- LSU
- Missouri
- Ole Miss
- Tennessee
- Texas A&M
- Vanderbilt
Sales visited Capstone in November 2024 for Alabama's Iron Bowl against Auburn, where the Tide won 28-14. With Alabama's recent offer and no summer visits scheduled yet, his last was to Indiana on May 2, it's likely Sales will plan a trip to Tuscaloosa this summer.
Only time will tell, and with Sales being only a sophomore as this article is published, that means there’s nothing but time left in his recruitment.
