Alabama special teams coordinator, Jeff Banks, will be headed to Austin to join former  offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian as his new staff begins to take shape, per Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports.

Banks, a third-year coach at Alabama, was in charge of special teams and tight ends and is considered one of the top assistants in the country. After spending five years at Texas A&M, holding the same position he went on to have at Alabama, Banks moved  to Tuscaloosa and coached Bama's special teams unit to becoming the fifth ranked punt defense and 12th ranked punt return unit in just his first year.  Banks will be taking the same position at Texas and coaching tight ends as well.

This news comes just days after offensive line coach Kyle Flood's departure was announced. Both assistants, leaving to join the Texas staff, are considered top tier at their position, so Sarkisian has done an excellent job so far in building out his coaching staff, unfortunately it has come at the hands of Alabama's staff. As usual for the Tide, this means this offseason will be not only be a reload for the team, but it will be for the coaches as well.
