After Alabama's loss to Oklahoma in Week 12, one statement that has continuously been repeated is, "Alabama must win out to keep its season alive." The Crimson Tide will travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium this Saturday with their goals still in front of them: a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game and a chance of making the playoffs.

Although those goals remain, achieving them won't be easy. Playing in a hostile environment on the road against their in-state rival is a tale for the ages. Alabama versus Auburn, also known as the Iron Bowl, has a storied history.

During Tuesday's media availability, Alabama native Ryan Williams spoke about the upcoming matchup and its significance. When asked about knowing Auburn is trying to spoil Alabama's season and how motivated the Crimson Tide is knowing they have a target on their back, Williams stated, "It's nothing new; this is what we face week in and week out. We're trying not to focus on external factors, we just know we've got to go 1-0 this week."

Regarding the intensity of playing on the road against SEC opponents, Williams believes it's the cost of playing in the SEC, and this game is just like their previous road tests. "It's just like every other SEC away game; there's going to be a lot of energy. We're coming in, so we're going to give everyone their best shot, but it means a little more just because it's the Iron Bowl."

Along with the intensity of the game–like any rivalry game–trash talk always occurs; it's a way to get in the opponent's head and try to disrupt their game. Last year's Iron Bowl saw a few altercations and much trash talk, but Williams believes it's important for Alabama to stay focused and lock in on winning. "Really just playing emotionless, nameless, faceless football, and keeping a disciplined mindset. At the end of the day, we have to go win."

The Iron Bowl is just three days away, and the anticipation continues to build. Alabama and Auburn will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
