Chiarodo announced his commitment to the Tide on Thursday via social media.

"I am blessed to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama," said Chiarodo.

The 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher is a member of the Edwardsville High School baseball team, the 4x ISHA state champions, which won its fourth title this past season. The Illinois native plays in the field and hits as well.

Chiarodo is also involved in the Gators Baseball Academy, a 14U-18U college baseball development program.

Chiarodo will add depth to an Alabama pitching staff that will lose a couple of arms in the next few years.
