After opening up SEC play with the Georgia series this past weekend, the Alabama Crimson Tide's next challenge is a one game contest against the UAB Blazers on Tuesday.

The Brad Bohannon era has gotten off to an electric start in Tuscaloosa as he has the Crimson Tide sitting at 16-5 (1-2 in SEC play) on the season. The team is well on its way to eclipsing last year's win total of 19 games, and could do so as early as this Sunday against Tennessee.

After losing the final two games of the Georgia series, the Crimson Tide will look to bounce back against a UAB team currently sitting under .500. The Blazers are 8-10 on the year, with a 2-1 record in Conference USA. It's safe to say the Blazers strength has not been offense, as they have only scored more than six runs in one contest this season, an 11-8 loss to the Auburn Tigers. This correlates to the fact that none of the Blazers' qualified batters have a batting average above .260.

Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide shouldn't be too discouraged by the recent losses, as both came by a mere one run and offense has often been the team's forte this season. More optimism comes in the form of second baseman Chandler Avant, who continued his stellar year with a monstrous series against Georgia where he went 6-15 with 9 RBIs in three games. Avant currently leads of all the team's qualified batters with a .400 average, 34 hits, and 26 RBIs.

Tuesday's game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and UAB Blazers will be played at Regions Field in Birmingham. First pitch is expected for 6:30 p.m. As always you can listen to the Crimson Tide Sports Network broadcast of the game on Tide 102.9/100.9 and the all-new Tide 102.9 app beginning at 6:25 p.m.
