Alabama Baseball Adds Hunter Morris As Assistant Coach
The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team has hired former SEC Player of the Year Hunter Morris as an assistant coach. Morris was the 2008 SEC Freshman of the year and the 2010 SEC Player of the Year at Auburn University. He spent his last three years working as an assistant coach at UT-Martin.
The Tide Continues To Fight For NCAA Tournament Bid
Perhaps the most important thing happening is Alabama baseball making its SEC Tournament run for the first time since 2016 and playing in the winners bracket Thursday taking on 6th seed Florida. Statistically speaking, Bama needs one more conference win to get to that sweet spot of 15 total conference wins to make a run at the NCAA tournament.

The Alabama Crimson Tide pulled off a shocking win over the SEC East champion and No. 2 seeded Tennessee Volunteers 3-2 in an 11-inning battle. The Crimson Tide, after advancing into the double-elimination portion of the tournament by defeating South Carolina, pulled off a big upset that should help its standing with the NCAA Selection Committee.
Alabama Ace Connor Prielipp Facing Tommy John Surgery
Alabama sophomore pitcher and Preseason First Team All-American Connor Prielipp will undergo Tommy John surgery and will miss the remainder of the baseball season and the entire 2022 season according to D1 Baseball's Kendall Rogers. Prielipp only appeared in three games in 2021 for Alabama, leaving a big hole in the Crimson Tide's rotation this year.
