Under Armour held its annual Next Camp Series in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday, March 30th, where Alabama's 4-star Edge commit Jamarion Matthews excelled and earned second on On3's Charles Powers' list of best camp performers and earned an invite to the 2026 Under Armour All-American game.

Matthews was the 3rd commitment to the Tide's 2026 recruiting class, which currently has 4 commits and ranks 6th in the nation and 3rd in the SEC, according to On3 Team Recruiting Rankings. He committed to Alabama on February 21st after attending Alabama's elite Junior Day, which kicked off February for the Crimson Tide. Kalen DeBoer and his staff added two commits in February, with Matthews and 4-Star Offensive Lineman Chris Booker committing a day before the 4-star edge made his decision.

The 6'2", 240-pound edge is entering his senior season at Gainsville in Georgia after transferring from Sparksman in Harvest, Alabama, where he recorded 57 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, 15 quarterback hurries, and one forced fumble in 10 games last year, according to Matthew's 247 Sports Scouting Report.

According to On3's Industry Rankings, the 4-Star edge is ranked No. 24 in the 2026 class and No. 202 overall. Matthews' stock rose following his performance in Nashville on Sunday, in which the edge rusher dominated one-on-ones against offensive linemen, demonstrating his strength and speed while some of the top-recruited linemen in the 2026 class failed to contain the Alabama commit.

Matthews is a force to be reckoned with when he comes off the line, as the 4-star edge is not only quick but also strong and athletic. This allowed him to bullrush his opponents, and Matthews showed a full display of his techniques. Sunday, the 4-Star not only ran through offensive linemen, but he also showed excellent footwork and poise in one-on-ones.

Alabama is excited to welcome this big man to campus and grow him into another NFL edge rusher that the Tide has sent to the league. Matthews's recruitment is still early, and other colleges are battling for the 4-star, with Auburn and Penn State expecting to host the rising senior from Gainsville on an official visit in the future, according to On3's Pete Nakos.
