The Alabama Crimson Tide (9-4, 4-0) went on the road and defeated the Auburn Tigers (6-6, 0-4) 94-90 to remain undefeated in conference play and is still in first place in the SEC. The victory was the first win in Auburn for the Crimson Tide since 2015.

The Tide was led offensively by freshman Joshua Primo who scored 22 points off 4-for-8 from beyond the arc. The young Canadian's four 3-pointers all came in the first half and helped the Tide take a 1-point lead into the locker room at halftime. Primo was aided by graduate transfer, Jordan Bruner, who contributed 20 points as well while making three 3-point shots.

Alabama was without starting point guard Jahvon Quinerly who is still out with an undisclosed medical condition. His absence cleared the way for Primo to get his second start of the season. Conversely the Auburn Tigers received a boost today with its 5-star freshman, Sharife Cooper receiving clearance to play from the NCAA. Cooper started slowly as it was his first college game but finished the game-high 26 points.

The Crimson Tide is now on a five-game winning streak and looking down on the rest of the SEC to start the year. Alabama received two votes in the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll last week, after big wins over Florida and Auburn the Tide is making a push to get into the top-25 rankings.

The Crimson Tide's next game comes at home on Tuesday, Jan. 12 as it will host the struggling Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky is only 3-6 on the season but the Wildcats have started off conference play with two straight wins over Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Kentucky plays Florida later in the day.
