Sunday's 105-82 victory over South Dakota State saw the Crimson Tide dominate from behind the arc, making 19 three-pointers and allowing four Bama players to score in double figures.

Alabama came out of this game firing on both sides of the ball, with the Crimson Tide leading 10-2 at the under 15-minute timeout thanks to 8 points from Grant Nelson to start the game.

 

 

Alabama took their highest lead of the game with 8:02 remaining in the first half, thanks to a long three by Mark Sears and a strong defensive effort by the Tide, which forced South Dakota State to turn the ball over eight times.

 

 

The Crimson Tide closed the first half with a 24-point lead thanks to a solid offensive performance, with four different tide players scoring double digits. Aden Holloway led the squad in scoring with 14 points for the Sophmore Guards, shooting 4-10 from behind the arc in the first half.

 

 

 

Alabama played tough defense in the first half, limiting South Dakota State to 33 first-half points owing to the Tide's persistent interior pressure, which resulted in four first-half blocks and five steals.

 

 

 

South Dakota State came out of the second half looking strong, going on an 18-12 run to begin the final half of regulation, which saw the Tide go four minutes without a basket until Freshman Guard Labaron Philon knocked down a tough jay to give Alabama their first field goal of the second half with 16:58 remaining in the game.

 

 

 

Alabama made a strong effort on the boards in the second half, with Nelson and Dioubate snatching 19 rebounds, several of which resulted in second-chance baskets. The Tide scored 25 points in the victory.

Alabama will improve to 11-2 after their win on Sunday. The Crimson Tide will prepare for the start of conference play this upcoming Saturday, January 4th, 2025, when they face off against 12th-ranked Oklahoma at Coleman Coliseum.
