The Alabama men’s basketball team opened Southeastern Conference play with a 68-63 win over Vanderbilt Tuesday night at Coleman Coliseum. Senior guard Trevor Releford led the team with 16 points, six assists, and three steals, all of which were team-highs. With the win, Alabama moves to 7-7 on the year, 1-0 in the SEC. Vanderbilt is now 8-5 for the year, 0-1 in the SEC.
 
The Crimson Tide will return to action this Saturday, Jan. 11, as they go on the road to face the Georgia Bulldogs. The contest tips off at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be televised by SEC TV and the radio broadcast will be carried by the Crimson Tide Sports Network.
