Saturday afternoon, the Alabama football team trotted off the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium after a dominating win over Western Carolina and before the clock struck midnight, another chapter in the season’s story was written as Kansas State and Oregon lost, sending Tuscaloosa intojubilation.

Now it is time to move on. Auburn is coming town.

“It doesn’t matter what Auburn’s record is record is or who their coach is, they’re always going to be ready” senior center Barrett Jones stated after Saturday’s game, noting that the Western Division and all of Alabama’s “hopes and dreams” were going to be on the line.

It is no secret that the Auburn Tigers have struggled this season, coming into Saturday’s game with a 3-8 record.  It is also no secret that an Auburn win would make the Tiger’s year.

“Anyone can be a dangerous team, so we are not going to underestimate them at all-just come out and play” sophomore defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix said with a sharp focus.

That focus will be key from here on out.

After the loss to the Texas A&M Alabama head coach Nick Saban questioned if there were too many distractions heading into that week, mentioning the importance of keeping “the focus on the vision of what you want to accomplish – not the circumstance.”

Now, the stakes have been raised.  Every time the Crimson Tide takes the field they will do so under the brightest spotlights and all of their chips pushed into the table.  This week will be no different as the eyes of the state of Alabama and much of the college football world will be fixated on Tuscaloosa.

However this week focus shouldn’t be an issue. After Saturday’s game defensive back Vinnie Sunseri told reporters he wasn’t going to take advantage on Nick Saban’s 24 hour rule.

“I’m already focused on Auburn.”
