Alabama sophomore offensive lineman Jonah Williams has been named Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday morning. Williams was honored for his performance in the Crimson Tide’s 41-9 win over Arkansas this past weekend. The selection is the second conference offensive lineman of the week award – and third weekly conference honor overall – of Williams’ career.

Williams anchored an offensive front that cleared a path for 308 rushing yards and 496 yards of total offense in a 41-9 victory over the Razorbacks. He graded out at a team-high 92 percent in 56 snaps at left tackle and did not miss an assignment. Williams added four knockdown blocks and did not surrender a sack or quarterback hurry.

Alabama averaged 7.2 yards per rush in the game and 7.8 yards per snap while the offense finished with 23 first downs. Five Crimson Tide players rushed for at least 33 yards, led by Damien Harris’ 125 yards. Bo Scarbrough added 65 yards on seven carries and quarterback Jalen Hurts finished with 41 yards on the ground.

This marks the second time in Williams’ career that he has been recognized as the league’s offensive lineman of the week. He was previously honored for his performance against Tennessee in 2016 when he helped clear the way for a Tide offense that ran for a then Nick Saban-era high 438 yards in a 49-10 win in Knoxville. Williams also earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors following his collegiate debut in UA’s 52-6 win over USC last season.
