Alabama junior defensive back Ronnie Harrison and senior punter JK Scott each earned SEC Player of the Week for their performances against LSU, the league office announced on Monday morning. Harrison was chosen as the co-Defensive Player of the Week while Scott was chosen as the special teams honoree. The selections are the first for Harrison and the fourth for Scott in their careers.

Harrison was a force for the Alabama defense on Saturday, as he finished with six tackles, half a sack and half a tackle for loss for a Crimson Tide secondary that held the Tiger receiving corps in check to allow for a season-high six sacks by the Tide defense. His first quarter interception set up Alabama’s second touchdown drive of the evening on the way to the 24-10 win.

Scott was a field position weapon in Alabama’s victory over the Tigers. The senior booted eight punts for 413 yards (51.6 yards per attempt) and dropped seven of his kicks on or inside the LSU 20-yard line with five fair catches and two punts downed by the Tide coverage unit. Through nine games this season, The Denver, Colo., native is averaging 42.5 yards per punt with a long of 59 yards and had only one punt returned for two yards.
