Alabama In the Driver’s Seat For Top 2022 Hoopers
The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball program has been on a meteoric rise since the arrival of head coach Nate Oats. Oats has delivered an SEC regular season and tournament championship to the Capstone and brought in a steady stream of talent to grow the program. In his two offseasons in charge in Tuscaloosa, Oats has brought in the No. 12 and No. 9 recruiting classes and is already working on a stellar third class.
The Crimson Tide is in the discussion for two 5-star teammates in the 2022 class. According to Rivals publisher Jamie Shaw the Crimson Tide is the leading candidate to land 5-star forward Jarace Walker and 5-star prospect Jaden Bradley.
Walker is a 5-star prospect out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. He stands 6-foot-7 and is currently ranked the No. 9 prospect in the nation and is the top power forward in the country according to Rivals. Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports describes Walker as a hybrid-four with physical tools and growing face-up skills.
Bradley is also a 5-star prospect out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL. He stands 6-foot-3 and is rated the No. 18 prospect in the country and the No. 4 point guard in the 2022 class according to Rivals. Jenkins describes him as a pass first point guard with a strong ability to manage a game and get his teammates involved. Shaw changed his prediction for Bradley from North Carolina to Alabama in June.
Locking down this pair of teammates would go a long way to securing Oats' next great recruiting class. Shaw's predictions are accurate at a near 91% clip as he has correctly identified 50-of-55 futurecasts in the last two offseasons.
