Alabama Linebacker Removes Name from the Transfer Portal
The South Carolina native played his previous four seasons with the Crimson Tide, totaling 44 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. His lone interception came in the 2021 season opener against Miami, where he returned it 13 yards. He was named Special Teams Player of the Week twice this past season against Southern Miss and Ole Miss.
Though already a senior and graduated in December, Moody, like all other college athletes, was granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moody was previously predicted to go to the Texas Longhorns according to 247Sports. At Texas, Moody would've been paired with former Alabama offensive coordinator and current Texas head coach, Steve Sarkisian. This move would have also followed in the path of former Alabama tight end, Jahleel Billingsley, who transferred to Texas through the transfer portal a few days ago.
The fifth year linebacker will be joining linebacker Henry To'oto'o, who is also returning for his senior season, along with the rest of the Crimson Tide's experienced defense that features returning linebackers like Will Anderson Jr., Dallas Turner, and Byron Young.
