Alabama Locks Down 4-Star Louisiana Wide Receiver
The hits keep on coming for the Alabama Crimson Tide on Early Signing Day. Alabama head coach Nick Saban received the Letter of Intent for Shazz Preston. Preston is considered a 4-star wide receiver out of St. James, Louisiana.
The 6-foot, 190 pound receiver is considered the No. 4 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 3 overall wide receiver in the class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite.
Preston took official visits to Texas, Southern Cal and Alabama. He visited Tuscaloosa last amongst the three and Pete Golding and Holmon Wiggins made the most of the December weekend and ultimately secured his signing.
He's a multisport athlete, competing in both basketball and track and field. He was recorded with a 22.3 200-meter dash as a junior showing positive speed over a distance. As a sophomore in high school he helped St. James to a 15-0 record and a Louisiana 3A state championship.
According to 247 Sports, Preston hauled in 170 receptions for 2,516 yards and 26 touchdowns. He already has college pedigree as his brother Shawn Preston plays safety for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
