The University of Alabama men’s golf coach Jay Seawell announced the release of the Crimson Tide’s 2013-14 schedule on Tuesday that features some of the most competitive tournaments in the nation.

“This year’s schedule should be a tremendous test for our golf team as we try and build toward the 2014 SEC and NCAA Championships,” Alabama head coach Jay Seawell said. “One of the things we try to do when we make our schedule is to not only challenge our team in a way to make them better, but to also give them the opportunity to play some of the best golf courses in this part of the world. This year’s schedule certainly meets all of those criteria.”

With the Walker Cup slated for Sept. 7-8, the Crimson Tide will begin the fall portion of its schedule on Sept. 13-15, at the Olympia Fields/Illini Invitational at Olympia Field Country Club just outside of Chicago. It marks the third time in the last four years the Crimson Tide have competed at Olympia Fields.

Alabama will return home to host the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate at the Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, Ala., where the field will play 36 holes on Monday, Oct. 7, and the final 18 on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The Crimson Tide has captured five of the last seven team titles at the JPNI.

Alabama then makes its sixth straight appearance at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla., on Oct. 20-22.  The Tide then finishes the 2013 fall slate at the Gifford Collegiate at Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Beach, Calif., on Nov. 4-5.

The spring season opens with a familiar stop in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, as the Tide takes part in the Puerto Rico Classic at the Rio Mar Country Club February 23-25.  The Tide will be making their 10th consecutive visit to Puerto Rico, a place where they have captured the team title in 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The second tournament of the spring, the Querencia Cabo Invitational, is a new event for the Crimson Tide. The tournament is being held on March 2-4, at the Querencia Country Club in Los Cabos, Mexico. Mississippi won the 2013 event after Arkansas captured the 2011 and 2012 tournament titles.

Alabama returns to the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters for the third straight year. The Crimson Tide will travel to Las Vegas, Nev., on March 7-9, at the Southern Highlands Golf Club. UA will then returns to the Linger Longer Invitational on March 22-23, looking for its four straight tournament title.

The Tide wraps up its regular-season scheduled by making their first appearance in the Mason Rudolph Championship since 2004. The event will be held in the spring for the first time in 2014 and is slated for April 4-6, at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.

Postseason play begins April 25-27 with the SEC Championships being held at the Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course in St. Simons Island, Ga. The NCAA Regional Championships get underway May 15-17, at one of six sites while the NCAA Championships run May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.
