Alabama Offensive Linemen Opts to Enter the Transfer Portal
The Alabama Crimson Tide (10-2, 6-2) completed its regular season on Saturday night by defeating the Auburn Tigers (5-7, 2-6) 49-27.
The Crimson Tide are now in wait-and-see mode as the College Football Playoff committee will make its determinations next week on the final four, however, it hasn't stopped some Alabama athletes from already deciding their next steps.
Alabama junior offensive lineman Damieon George has taken to Twitter to announce he will be entering the transfer portal. He announces that he has two years of eligibility remaining.
George, from Houston, came to the Crimson Tide as a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports in the 2020 recruiting class. He appeared in 17 games for Alabama, primarily as a reserve tackle.
The mammoth athlete, standing at 6-foot-6, 333 pounds had his best opportunity for consistent playing time in 2021. He was a part of the offensive line shuffling and ultimately started three games at right tackle.
The offensive lineman will have no shortage of options once officially in the portal. He was a highly sought after prospect, earning over 30 scholarship offers from premiere programs.
George becomes the fourth Alabama player to enter the transfer portal, following Jack Martin, Trey Sanders and Khyree Jackson.
