Within the confines of the Yellowhammer State, how Alabama and Auburn fare over the course of a football season determines who has the bragging rights.

Since Nick Saban's arrival in Tuscaloosa in 2007, Alabama has managed an 8-4 record over Auburn including a 5-1 mark in Tuscaloosa.

However, the rivalry takes on just as much meaning in sports like basketball, baseball, gymnastics and softball. This past season, Auburn basketball won both meetings against Alabama, both baseball teams split four games on the diamond and the Crimson Tide won both meetings in gymnastics.

To start off the week, Martin Houston asked a simple question to his audience on The Blitz concerning the overall rivalry between Alabama and Auburn, "Is Auburn making a case for being the best sports program in the state?"

The former Alabama fullback examined the varying degrees of success with the two schools but analyzed how Auburn baseball has been more successful in recent years than Alabama on the baseball diamond.

Take a listen to what he has to say concerning what Alabama baseball needs to do catch up with Auburn baseball despite the 11.7 scholarship limit that the two school have to face each season.
