Tyler Fay Earns a Pair of Honors After Historic Outing
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The fanfare following Tyler Fay's historic no-hitter continues as the right-handed Nebraskan earns a pair of recognitions, coming in the form of SEC Pitcher of the Week and the Golden Spikes x D1Baseball Player of the Week.
Fay becomes the first Alabama player to earn the Golden Spikes x D1Baseball Player of the Week award since USA Baseball began the weekly award in 2018. Fay also becomes the first Crimson Tide pitcher to be named SEC Pitcher of the Week since his teammate Bobby Alcock earned the recognition a year ago for his seven shutout innings to sweep Texas A&M.
Fay's historic no-hitter marked the ninth in program history and the first solo nine-inning no-no since 1942.

Fay's struck out 13 while only walking a pair across 132 pitches to defeat then-No. 18 Florida on Friday, laying the groundwork for the Crimson Tide's eventual sweep of the Gators — the first Alabama sweep of Florida since 2002.
The right-hander will return to the mound Friday as Alabama welcomes Auburn to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl of Baseball.
