Alabama quarterback commit Ty Simpson earned an invite Sunday to the Elite 11 Finals after an impressive performance at the regional camp in Nashville, Tennessee.

Simpson committed to the Crimson Tide back in February over offers from Clemson and Tennessee. "I started to really think about what are my aspirations, my dreams and what I want in a program," said Simpson. "So I thought the best place for me would be the University of Alabama."

The Tennessee native is a five-star prospect and ranked as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback and 22-ranked player nationally according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Simpson is one of three five-star commits for Alabama in the 2022 recruiting class.

"Natural feel in the pocket. Senses pressure and does a great job in scramble situations," said national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins. "Keeps eyes down the field and can make a big throw downfield or just take off and run for plus yards. Creative in how he gets the ball out. Can throw from different arm angles and is just as dangerous outside the pocket as he is inside of it. Shows poise and toughness. Will stand in and take a shot to get the ball out. Highly intelligent quarterback who should have no problems picking up a college playbook and processes the game extremely fast."

Bryce Young participated in the Elite 11 Finals back in 2019 and former Alabama quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones also participated in the event in 2016.

The Elite 11 Finals will begin on June 29th and take place in Nashville.
