The biological father of standout linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested in Dania Beach, Florida, on Thursday according to CBS 42 in Birmingham. Danny Foster shot his wife Anita Berry Paige and 18-month-old son Reuben in 1995. The young boy was wounded in his back.

A grand jury indicted the father in 1996 but he fled to California, where he was later arrested and sent to jail. He somehow managed to escape and take on a new life in South Florida with an alias until Foster was arrested on Thursday.

Reuben Foster was one of Alabama's most talked about recruits of the 2013 signing class. After originally committing in Alabama in 2011, he flipped to rival Auburn in July of 2012. A short time after that, Foster got an Auburn tatoo on his forearm. Foster eventually recommitted to Alabama and signed with the Crimson Tide on Signing Day.
