Alabama and Texas faced off for the first time since the BCS National Championship game in 2010 and it set the record for the most streamed regular season game in Fox Sports history including college football and the NFL.

The news came about via Twitter according to Fox College Football who reported the record breaking stat, but did not give an exact number of streams around the country.

Texas also made some more history on Saturday afternoon. The Longhorns set a new stadium record at Darrel K. Royal Memorial Stadium with 105,213 fans in attendance surpassing the old record of 103,057 accomplished in 2018 against USC.

This game certainly lived up to the hype as Alabama came away victorious thanks to a game winning field goal by senior kicker Will Reichard to give the Crimson Tide a 20-19 advantage with ten seconds remaining.

Texas seemed to be rolling before starting quarterback Quinn Ewers went down with an injury that silenced the record breaking crowd. Doctors say it appears to be an AC sprain that will keep him out 4-6 weeks.

Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young made the play of the game when he eluded what seemed like an obvious sack by Texas defensive back Ryan Watts setting up the Reichard field goal.

Alabama moves to 2-0 and will play Louisiana Monroe next Saturday at 3 P.M. on the SEC Network.
