Before each Alabama football home game a video plays.  It counts down the first team All-Americans, bowl appearances, Southeastern Conference championships, and national championships as the short film brings the crowd to their feet, a sign the Crimson Tide is about to come out of the tunnel.

Alabama has a storied tradition.

However, this chapter of the story, the one that will go down as the “Saban Era” has a few extra pages and if Alabama takes home the crystal ball, the book will only get longer.  .

The national championship would be Nick Saban’s fourth in 10 years as ESPN SEC blogger Chris Low noted in a recent article.  While the statistic alone would be enough to catch one’s attention, Low joined The Game and said one thing impresses him about the success of the Alabama Crimson Tide more than anything else.

As the days pass, the anticipation builds for Alabama’s January 7th meeting with Notre Dame.  The Crimson Tide currently sit as a 9 to 10 point favorite for the showdown in Miami Gardens, and while some feel that may be too high, Low is not in that camp.

For more, including why Low believes Nick Saban will not leave Alabama and the reason for his success in Tuscaloosa, listen to the link below.

The Game airs weekdays from 6-8pm on Tuscaloosa’s Sports Authority, 99.1 WDGM.
