The Alabama Crimson Tide football team narrowly missed a selection to the College Football Playoff, ranking at No. 5 on Sunday.

The 10-2 program has found itself in one of six New Year's bowl games. The Tide is set to take on the Kansas State Wildcats in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Eve.

Kansas State ranks in at No. 9 and is 10-3 on the season. The Wildcats beat No. 3 TCU 31-28 in overtime to win the Big 12 championship on Saturday.

According to Winsipedia, this is the first matchup ever between the two programs.

Other New Year's Six games include Clemson vs. Tennessee competing in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30, Tulane vs. USC in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2, and Penn State vs. Utah in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2.

Michigan takes on TCU in the Fiesta Bowl Dec. 31 at 3 pm. CT and top-ranked Georgia takes on Ohio State in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. CT for the College Football Playoff semifinals.

The 2022 Allstate Sugar Bowl takes place on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11 a.m. CT in New Orleans, La. Coverage will be on Tide 100.9 and 95.3 The Bear.
