Alex Leatherwood Decides to Return For Senior Year
Alex Leatherwood announces on Twitter he intends to return to Tuscaloosa in 2020 for his senior season. Leatherwood has spent time playing guard and tackle during his three years in Tuscaloosa. He was a highly recruited player out of Booker T. Washington High School in Pensacola, Florida; 247sports rated him as the number one tackle in the nation and the number four overall prospect in the 2017 class. Leatherwood started all season at left tackle in 2019 for the Crimson Tide.
Leatherwood was largely regarded by NFL draft prognosticators as a mid second round draft pick had he declared for the upcoming April draft. The standout tackle declared he has unfinished business in Tuscaloosa and is looking to return in 2020 to improve his draft stock while going for another national title.
Leatherwood becomes the second major Tide junior to announce he is declaring for after Dylan Moses announced he would return to Tuscaloosa earlier in the week. Keep it locked in with Tide100.9 fm and the Tide1009 app for all the latest news as the Alabama juniors make their future intentions known.
