The Aliceville Yellow Jackets and Falkville Blue Devils square off in the second round of the playoffs Friday night. Aliceville topped their region, while Falkville were the runners up in their respective division.

Aliceville lost only one game during the regular season, losing to Center Point in their second game of the season. The Yellow Jackets went on to have a dominate season, led by senior quarterback TyJarian Williams. In the first round of the playoffs, the Yellow Jacket offense continued their dominance, putting up a total of 667 total yards, to defeat West End Walnut Grove 62-13.

Aliceville has competed in the second round of the playoffs 17 times, holding a 10-7 record. Aliceville last won a second round game in 2020, with a 48-42 win over the Cleveland Panthers. Second year head coach Grady Griffin hopes his dominating offense can help lead his Yellow Jackets to a victory Friday night.

Falkville has had an up and down regular season to get to the playoffs. The Blue Devils finished the regular season with a 6-4 record and 4-2 region record. The Blue Devils travel to Aliceville Friday night, but they didn't play their best on the road, going 1-3. Their sole road win was against Winston County in the final game of the regular season.

The Blue Devils made it to the second round of the playoffs after a dominant performance over Collinsville Panthers. Falkville has played in the second round five times losing all five appearances. Second year head coach Seth Ward, hopes their win over Winston County on the road helps their momentum Friday night to get the Blue Devils first second round win at Aliceville.

Class 2A second round playoff matchup between Aliceville Yellow Jackets and Falkville Blue Devils will be played at Memorial Stadium in Aliceville, with kickoff at 7 p.m. CST.
