Auburn Loses a Top Head Coaching Candidate
Liberty Flames football head coach Hugh Freeze has agreed to an eight-year contract extension that is fully guaranteed.

The former Ole Miss coach was hired by the Flames in the 2018 offseason after getting fired by the Rebels. During his time with Ole Miss, Freeze was investigated by the NCAA for academic violations, recruiting violations, and paying players to come to Oxford.
Freeze has an overall record of 33-12 at Liberty, which also includes a 10-1 season in 2020. Freeze also revived the career of transfer quarterback Malik Willis and made him a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Flames and Hugh Freeze's got the team an invitation to join the Conference USA next season.
This is a huge blow for Alabama's in state rival and little brother, the Auburn Tigers. Auburn in the last six months, has lost its athletic director and numerous recruits.
Who is going to be the next coach of the Auburn Tigers? Who knows but its not going to be Hugh Freeze.
