The Crimson Tide's showing in Hoover at the SEC tournament allowed for some optimism heading into the selection show; however, the committee didn't see enough to make an impression as Alabama also went unlisted in the first four out of the tournament as well.

The 12-17 record in Southeastern Conference play matches Alabama's 2021 results and lands the 2022 squad in sixth place in the West, 11th overall, to close the year.

Despite losing both appearances against No. 20 ranked Auburn on the road – with the final game being canceled due to inclement weather – the Crimson Tide showed fight down the final stretch against No. 5 Arkansas, taking the series with wins in Games 2 and 3 to close the regular season.

Alabama was only able to win three of its 10 SEC series for the campaign, however, and lost 12 total games by one run.

The Crimson Tide's 2021 appearance in the NCAA tournament marked the program's first since 2014 and the hiring of coach Brad Bohannon. Following his fifth season at the reins for Bama, Bohannon is now 134-107 all-time with a 39-79 record against fellow SEC opponents.
