Bama Basketball Lands JUCO Transfer
Keon Ellis, out of Florida Southwestern State College, has decided to join the Crimson Tide basketball program as a JUCO transfer. Ellis is a 6-foot-6 combo guard who played for the number #1 JUCO team in the country last year.
Ellis averaged 18 points per game and shot 40% from the 3-point line last season. He was ranked as the number three overall JUCO prospect in the country. Nate Oats commented that he and his staff would explore all avenues to improve the roster. He proves this by now securing his first JUCO transfer of the offseason.
Alabama has now brought in Joshua Primo and Keon Ambrose-Hylton out of high schools in Canada and Ellis out of junior college in Florida. The Crimson Tide is still in the mix for several players in the transfer portal.
Oats has added much needed depth to a roster that was hampered by injuries last season. The Bama basketball team has lost James "Beatle" Bolden to graduation, Raymond Hawkins to the transfer portal and three players to the NBA Draft process. Kira Lewis Jr., John Petty Jr. and Herbert Jones could all still decide to return to Tuscaloosa as they have not hired agents yet.
