TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama wide receiver and NFL draftee Germie Bernard, moments after stepping off the field following Ty Simpson's pro day workout, sang the praises of Alabama sophomore wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks.

"Lotzeir, man, a guy that can make plays with the ball in his hands," said Bernard, "Downfield, fast, can make defenders miss with the ball in his hands. Lotzeir is a guy that is going to have a breakout year, I feel like."

Brooks, who didn't work out this morning, broke out onto the scene during his freshman campaign. The N.J. native hauled in 32 passes for 441 yards and two scores.

Brooks' 79-yard, two-touchdown performance helped vault the Crimson Tide over Oklahoma in the first round of the 2025 College Football Playoff.

The rising sophomore is expected to take on a bigger role in the Alabama wide receiver room with the departures of Germie Bernard to the NFL draft and Isaiah Horton to Texas A&M.

Brooks will star alongside Ryan Coleman-Williams in 2026, along with Rico Scott, Derek Meadows, Cederian Morgan, and NC State transfer Noah Rogers, whom Bernard took a moment to praise on Wednesday.

"Noah [Rogers], man, taking over that 5. " I told him that he has to hold the 5 down for me," said Bernard. "He's a great guy." A guy that's humble and ready to work."

The 2026 NFL draft is set for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, Pa., where Bernard is expected to get picked late day one or early day two.
