The Alabama Crimson Tide brought in one of the highest rated offensive line recruiting classes we have seen. Two members of the stellar class just happen to share a prominent last name; Brockermeyer.

James and Tommy Brockermeyer are twins from Texas who have enrolled early this spring as a part of this highly rated recruiting class. Their father Blake, joined The Gary Harris Show recently to discuss his son's recruitment, what kind of players they are and how the transition to Tuscaloosa has been for them.

The twins broke from family tradition by choosing Alabama to pursue their college football dreams. The family has deep ties to Texas as Blake and the twins older brother Luke played football in Austin. Blake talked to Harris about what made the twins choose Alabama over Texas when it was all said and done.

"When you think of Alabama football you expect greatness and dominance and just the best in everything that they do. They have the best trainers, the best doctors, the best facilities, the best coaches, so I fully expected them to win it," said Brockermeyer.  "They lose a lot of people on this year's squad but I expect them to be back in it again next year. It's just the way that they do things, the standard they've set there and coach Saban's the best that's ever done it and I'm excited for him to hopefully rub off a little piece of that on my boys."

Blake discussed with Harris that it was important to Tommy that he and James were able to pursue a college career together. Nick Saban offered Tommy first and followed by offering James a scholarship, the eldest Brockermeyer said it was in that moment that he felt the twins' recruitment was over.

Blake told Harris that the twins are staying busy since enrolling in school in Tuscaloosa. He commented that by enrolling early both players are seeing benefits, James is currently rehabbing an ankle injury he sustained at the end of his season to prepare for spring practice.

You can listen to the entire interview with Blake Brockermeyer here. The Gary Harris Show airs each weekday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tide 100.9 FM and streaming on the Tide 100.9 APP.
