Bryan Harsin has been fired by Auburn University. The former Boise State head coach did not even last two full seasons as head coach of the Tigers and leaves the program likely at the closest to rock bottom it has been in the last two decades.

The move has been anticipated all season by fans and analysts, but reports were that the University was waiting for the hiring of a new athletic director to pull trigger. With the announcement that Auburn had hired John Cohen, the former Mississippi State athletic director, the clock began ticking for Harsin.

Harsin will be owed a roughly $15 million buyout by the school. The school is still paying previous head coach Gus Malzahn roughly $8 million.

Harsin compiled a 9-12 record on The Plains and went 4-9 in SEC play.
