Brittany Davis Named to All-SEC Second Team
On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference announced that Alabama senior guard Brittany Davis was named to the All-SEC Second Team.
Davis ended the regular season leading the SEC in points per game (17.5), final points (473), three-point field goals made (77), and three-point field goals per game (2.85).
Davis has recorded double-digit points in 25-of-27 games this season, including ten 20 point-plus games and five double-doubles. Davis also led the Tide in total rebounds (188) and rebounds per game (7.0) during the regular season.
Davis earned a career-high this season on Sunday, Feb. 20, dropping 32 points on Texas A&M in College Station. After only scoring three-points in the first half, Davis exploded in the second half, leading Alabama to a thrilling double-overtime victory.
Davis tied her career-high in the regular-season finale against Vanderbilt on Sunday, Feb. 27. Against the Commodores, Davis went 11-of-13 from the field and 8-of-9 from the three-point line. The eight three-pointers in a game tied the school record for three-pointers in a game. Davis’ performance lifted Alabama to an important senior day victory.
It is no small feat getting back on the grind after missing a season due to pregnancy, but Davis greatly accepted this challenge. On social media, Davis credited those around her for her success and labeled her daughter as her “why.”
Davis will have to make a huge impact this week in Nashville as the Tide looks to make a deep run in the SEC Tournament.
