The number one center in the 2021 recruiting class James Brockermeyer announced Tuesday via Twitter Alabama is in his final four schools.

In December his twin brother Tommy, who is the number one tackle in the class, had Alabama in his final five. Clemson was still in the running for his commitment.

It's worth noting their father, Blake, played his college ball at Texas. Their older brother Luke also currently plays linebacker for the Longhorns. With strong ties in Texas, it may be difficult for the Tide to persuade the two to come to T-Town.

Still, 247Sports has both prospects at a 50-50 split between Alabama and Texas. Furthermore, the Brockermeyer brothers are being primarily recruited by defensive backs coach Karl Scott. Last year, Scott lead the way on flipping Jase McClellen from Oklahoma to the Tide.

Also playing into the favor currently for Alabama is having yet to sign another player at either position.  Still, being the number one player at their respective positions shouldn't deter them from competition.

Wherever the Brockermeyer twins decide to go, they are likely to see the field early. Both Alabama and Texas have experience across the offensive line for the 2020 season but will be turning to younger faces in 2021 and beyond. Both Alabama and Texas have four rising sophomores at tackle and one a piece at center for 2020.
