The Alabama Crimson Tide is opening SEC play this week in Bryant-Denny Stadium against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Tide is 3-0 to open the year but question marks remain on the offensive side of the football.

Alabama has seen seven receivers make a reception through the first three weeks but the group largely struggled on the road in Austin. Against the Longhorns no Crimson Tide wide out recorded more than 40 yards receiving or a got into the endzone.

The Tide may soon receive some help as several wide outs appear to be returning from injury, specifically, freshman Aaron Anderson.

Anderson made an appearance in this week's practice video, supplied by Alabama Athletics. He has yet to appear in a game for the Tide after undergoing a minor knee procedure in the offseason.

"The guy's practicing. He's making progress. I don't know when he's going to be ready to play. I mean, that's a medical decision and he's gotta feel comfortable and confident that he's ready to go as well. So it's still kind of up in the air. Day-to-day," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

The true freshman from Louisiana saw plenty of action in the 2022 A-Day Game, he made two receptions for 11 yards but saw six total targets as an early enrollee.

He's not the only receiver looking to get on the field for the first time. The Tide expects to see transferee Tyler Harrell and sophomore JoJo Earle return from injury in the net few weeks.
