Coleman-Williams talks drop struggles in 2025

Despite a sophomore season consisting of almost 700 yards while being the first name circled by almost every opponent, Ryan Coleman-Williams finished the 2025 season under more scrutiny than almost any other player in college football. It started after a couple of drops in the season-opening loss to Florida State, followed by more throughout the early part of the season, highlighted by a dropped would-be touchdown against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The drop problem has hounded Coleman-Williams throughout the offseason as it has been one of the most asked questions towards the Crimson Tide standout both at SEC Media Days and throughout spring ball. He was asked about the process of correcting the issue during the player breakout session in the main media room of the venue.

“You know, number one is taking accountability of it. For me it’s obviously about making it a strength for me and focusing in on the ball because I know the playmaker ability has been there my whole life. So, you know, (it’s about) just making the catch first and handling the rest later.”

Coleman-Williams will yet again be the focal point of this Crimson Tide offense. As he enters his third season, notably his final before officially becoming draft eligible, the star wide receiver will need to return to his freshman season form (865 yards, 8 touchdowns) if he wants to remain a constant on first-round mock drafts of the media members, as well as the big boards of the people in the NFL that ultimately hold the power of team-building.
