“Culture is constant” says Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams

It takes a lot to win a championship at the highest level of college football. It takes the right kind of players with the right levels of talent. It takes the right kind of coaches to lead those talented young men. But above all, it takes the right kind of culture throughout the program.

That culture became a staple of the Alabama football program during the days of Nick Saban. He built rosters off the back of that culture on the way to both six national titles and nine SEC titles.

Upon his retirement, many Alabama fans had concerns about the future of the program, more specifically about the future of the culture of the program, known to many as the ‘Bama standard.’

Here at SEC Media Days, star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams was asked about the difference in the culture throughout the program from arriving on campus to now, and according to him, there’s no difference between the mindset of the program under Kalen DeBoer as opposed to the program under Nick Saban.

“Honestly, the culture is constant. Because our head coach still knows how to win. I mean, we took things from coach Saban and the way he did things and just transformed it into our culture now. So really just continue to build on the things they did right and the things that we’ve done right over the past couple of years and mold it into our own culture.”
