The San Francisco 49ers, after recently making headlines, moving from the twelfth overall pick in this year's draft to the third in a swap with the Miami Dolphins, will be represented in Tuscaloosa for Alabama QB Mac Jones' Pro Day.  'Niners GM John Lynch and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan will be in attendance on Tuesday to watch Jones' workout, despite highly touted Ohio State QB Justin Fields' Pro Day being held at the same time.

When news of the pick swap between the 'Niners and Dolphins broke, rumors of Jones to San Francisco began to circulate. Jones himself was asked about the potential of him being selected with the third overall pick at a recent press conference.

Whether the recent move and subsequent rumors are nothing more than a smokescreen won't be seen until the draft rolls around in April, but the decision to send the general manager and head coach to one pro day over another seems notable.

NBC Sports' analyst Chris Simms pointed out some of the similarities between Jones and other Shanahan quarterbacks in a recent tweet, comparing him to Falcons' QB Matt Ryan. Ryan, a former league MVP, is a player that Jones has shown a lot of resemblance to in his pocket presence and pinpoint accuracy.

If the Shanahan and the 49ers are looking to find someone similar to quarterbacks that have had success in the system before, Jones appears to fit the mold.
