Crimson Classic Replay: Hurts So Good

For the final week of the series, Tide 100.9 FM in partnership with Learfield IMG College presents a classic Alabama game during the Saban era. The game will be aired on Saturday and Sunday on Tide 100.9 FM, our web browser and the TIDE APP. The game this weekend will air on Saturday, June 13 at noon and Sunday, June 14 at 7 p.m.

Tua Tagovailoa, battling with a knee injury the entire game struggled against a highly motivated Georgia defense in the 2018 SEC Championship. Alabama entered the fourth quarter trailing 28-21. Tagovailoa, hobbled with his ailing knee, was stepped on in the pocket and could not continue.

12 months after being benched in the national championship, Jalen Hurts was called on to save the Tide.

Hurts completed 7/9 passes for 82 yards and a touchdown, he also rushed five times for 28 yards and another touchdown.Hurts converted all four third down conversions he faced against the Bulldogs. His two fourth quarter touchdowns, in addition to stingy defense pushed the Tide past the Bulldogs for the second time in one calendar year.

The embattled quarterback spent the entire season on the bench behind Tagovailoa but when called upon to save Alabama he came through in the clutch and wrote his own final chapter to his Crimson Tide career.
