Alabama baseball defeats the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) 11-1 to improve to 10-0 on the season.

The Crimson Tide scored early and often throughout the game, and behind the pitching of starter Grayson Hitt and reliever Hagan Banks an Alabama win was never in doubt.

Jim Jarvis got the scoring started for Alabama on a bases loaded walk to plate the games first run. Senior Tommy Seidl made the score 5-0 after a grand slam to set the tone for the Alabama offense.

"Pinckney told me the pitch had a little more jump than he thought and he said stay on top of it and that was the plan," the Massachusetts native said after the game.

The Flames scored its lone run in the third inning off a Cole Conn home run.

Javis scored on an error by shortstop Zane Zielinski by overthrowing pitcher Rigel Virciglio after a pop out to left field by Dominic Tamez to make the Crimson Tide lead 8-1.

Shelton homered for a second time in the sixth and Seidl singled to right to give Alabama an 11-1 lead, putting the ten run rule in effect with three more outs. Sophomore reliever Hagan Banks nailed down the final frame for the Tide in the seventh to end the game after seven innings.

Grayson Hitt was the winning pitcher in the ballgame. The junior went five innings, giving up one run on four hits and had five strikeouts to pick up his second win of the season.
