Alabama's two wins over previously ranked No. 12 Michigan and No. 1 North Carolina in the Phil Knight Invitational propelled the Crimson Tide from No. 18 to No. 11 in the AP Poll Rankings. Alabama is in a tie with the Arkansas Razorbacks for that spot.

On Thursday, Nov. 24, the Tide started off strong in the Invitational by beating Michigan State 81-70. Freshman forward Brandon Miller led the way with 24 points and 9 rebounds.

The very next day, Alabama fell to the UConn Huskies 82-67. Alabama's 21 turnovers stymied the team's chances to come back in the second half.

On Sunday Alabama won a hard fought nail-biter game against the former No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels This game went into 4 OT. Even though this was not Brandon Miller's best night, other players like Jahvon Quinerly and Charles Bediako showed out for Alabama. This was Alabama's first time beating a No. 1 ranked team since 2004. It was also the Tide's first win over North Carolina since 1989.

Alabama will play at home this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT against South Dakota State. After that, the Tide will have another chance to take on the newly ranked No. 1 Houston Cougars the following Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. CT in Houston.
