Redshirt freshman Jeffery “Scooby” Carter has re-entered his name into the transfer portal according to AL.com’s Matt Zenitz. Carter was a four-star recruit as a member of the 2019 recruiting class and entered his name into the transfer portal originally in November, Carter withdrew his name from the portal in January but decided to re-enter the portal today.

Carter played in three games for Alabama as a freshman this past year, recording one tackle against New Mexico State. Carter entered the transfer portal on November 18, two days after missing the road trip to Mississippi State reportedly due to suspension for missing class.

Carter was a four-star cornerback out of Mansfield Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas. He was the ninth rated cornerback in the nation and the 15th rated recruit in the state of Texas according to 247sports. Carter enrolled early in the spring of 2019 and recorded four tackles in the A-Day game.

Carter discontinued attending Alabama football practices in November when entering the portal originally. Carter redshirted this past year due to only playing in three contests and therefore has four years of eligibility. Keep it locked in with Tide 100.9fm, tide1009.com/listen-live and the TIDE APP for all your updates on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
