Alabama lands its second commitment for the class of 2021 with 6-foot-5, 300 pound Anquin Barnes. Barnes is a defensive tackle out of Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama. He joins Deontae Lawson as the second member of the 2021 class to commit to the Crimson Tide.

Barnes is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, the popular recruiting publication has him rated as the 34th defensive tackle and the 22nd player out of the state of Alabama. In this still early stage of recruiting it is possible for Barnes to rise in the rankings.

Barns committed to Alabama over several other schools, he had scholarship offers from Florida, Auburn, Georgia and more. Last season the defensive tackle amassed 55 tackles, 11 for a loss and six sacks as a junior.

With all in person recruiting shut down in college football it is very good for Nick Saban to add to his 2021 class. Alabama was able to host Barnes on campus during the March 7 Junior Day, which was also the date the Tide offered him a scholarship.
