Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News joined Host of "Southern Fried Sports" Travis Reier Tuesday morning to determine college football playoff narratives and talk some Alabama Men's Basketball.

"We'll see everything else that happens this week," Hurt told Host Reier. "The better Auburn looks, the better that would be. So, take that for what it's worth."

"It's a different situation," Hurt told Reier about Alabama's chance to make it back into the top four. "We're talking about the college football playoff committee, we're not talking about 2011. I think it's a really overblown narrative that Alabama has the benefit of the doubt."

"He's (Coach Nate Oats) going to reward performance in practice," Hurt told Reier about his early impression on red-shirt freshmen Javian Davis. "I'll tell you what, well aware of the competition level, but man: he was active in the post, he was rebounding, and authoritative with the ball when he got it offensively."
