Alabama is set to take on Auburn in the final home game at Coleman Coliseum of the 2021 season. The Crimson Tide recently secured the SEC regular season crown and will now begin to turn its focus on the second season, the post season.

Alabama can set the tone for the post-season tonight by handling the Auburn Tigers who are 12-13 and 6-10 in the SEC. The last time Alabama played the Tigers the Crimson Tide emerged victorious on the road 94-90.

Alabama will play Auburn tonight but an often overlooked detail that stands out tonight are the officials. Tonight's officials are K.B Burdett, Wil Howard and Doug Shows. The last time Alabama played in a Doug Shows officiated game Alabama faced a free-throw discrepancy of 43-8 and had 32 fouls called on them to just 18 fouls called for them.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats talked about his team's response to the officiating after the Arkansas game.

“Well we have no control over the officiating,” said Oats. “So if you’re going to worry about stuff you have no control over and you’re not very good at the stuff you do have control over and we weren’t very good at that stuff tonight. We have to quit worrying about the officiating. They’re going to officiate the game the way they’re going to officiate it and we’ve got to worry about what we can control and we have to do a better job of that."

Tonight will be an opportunity for Alabama to put into action Coach Oats's desire to ignore the officiating and just play basketball.
