The regular season is in the books for Alabama; however, high school football is far from over. The state playoffs start this Friday, and teams are ready to represent their schools and towns, trying to bring a championship home. Below is all the information about the West Alabama matchups happening in the first round.

Note: All games are on November 5, and kick off at 7 p.m. CST.

1A: 

  • Phillips Bear Creek Bears(4-5, 4-3) at Pickens County Tornadoes(8-2, 7-0). Phillips comes off a BYE week and ranked fourth in Region 8. The Tornadoes come off a loss to Gordo and are the Region 6 champions. This is the first meeting between the two.

3A: 

  • Hale County Wildcats(6-5, 3-3) at T.R. Miller Tigers(8-2, 6-0). The Wildcats finished its season with a W against Lamar County and ranked fourth in Region 3. The Tigers finished its season with a W against W.S. Neal and are the Region 1 champions. This is the first matchup between the two.

4A:

  • Williamson Lions(5-5, 3-3) at American Christian Academy Patriots(9-1, 7-0). The Lions come off a BYE week and ranked fourth in Region 1. The Patriots finished its season with a W against Mars Hill and are the Region 3 champions. ACA won the only matchup against the two, 15-14 in 2018.
  • Madison County Tigers(5-5, 4-3) at Northside Rams(9-1, 6-0). The Tigers come off a BYE week and ranked fourth in Region 7. The Rams finished the season with a W against Sipsey Valley and are the Region 5 champions. This is the first meeting between the two.
  • North Jackson Chiefs (5-5, 5-2) at Gordo Green Wave(8-2, 5-1). The Chiefs finished its season with a loss against Fort Payne and ranked third in Region 7. The Green Wave finished its season with a W against Pickens County and ranked second in Region 5. This is the first matchup between the two.

6A:

  • Carver Montgomery Wolverines(7-3, 5-2) at Hillcrest Patriots(8-2, 5-1). The Wolverines come off of a W against Greenville Friday and ranked third in Region 2. The Patriots finished its season with a W against Demopolis and ranked second in Region 4. Hillcrest won the only matchup played between the two 34-14 in 2014.
  • Northridge Jaguars(7-3, 3-3) at Opelika Bulldogs(7-3, 7-0). The Jaguars come off a W against Tuscaloosa County and ranked fourth in Region 4. The Bulldogs come off a BYE week and are the Region 2 champions. This is the first meeting between the two.
