Five-star running back Richard Young is down to his final three schools, and Alabama is a finalist, alongside Oregon and Georgia.

“It felt like home that same day I went back for my official visit. I love it there," said Young to On3Sports about the Capstone.

According to 247Sports, the Fla., native ranks at No. 33 nationally, No. 3 in running backs, and the No. 9 prospect in the state of Florida for the class of 2023.

Since getting his offer from the Crimson Tide in February of 2021, Young has had two unofficial visits and an official visit, competed in a school and junior day, plus visits from Saban and running backs coach Robert Gillespie.

The upcoming senior has 407 rushing attempts for 3,591 yards, and 33 touchdowns in his career. Last season, the Lehigh Senior Lightning went 7-3, finished at the top of its division, and ended its season with a 36-0 shutout in the second round of the 7A Florida state title to Wheaton.

"A one-cut-and-go type of running back that’s powerful enough to get it done in-between the tackles. Excellent vision and overall feel for the position allows him to get up field in a hurry and attack holes. Outstanding contact balance combined with an effective stiff arm makes it extremely difficult for high school defenders to bring him to the ground. Has experience working out of single back, shotgun and pistol formations," said southeast recruiting analyst for 247Sports Andrew Ivins.

Tider Insider's Rodney Orr has Young in his "Firecracker 5," which is five of the top prospects he predicts will come to Alabama.

Young has yet to announce his commitment date.
